Election for the 17th President of the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives = NEC has been entrusted with the election and will use the online voting system (K-voting system) =
The National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea announced it will hold an election for the 17th President of the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC) on February 2, 2018.
This is the first time that the NEC has been entrusted with managing the election for the President of KFCC. The NEC will be involved through the election process including candidate registration (but not including the drawing up and finalization of the voters list), and will also be involved in the prevention of and punishment against any illegal activities.
Candidate registration shall be received by the NEC for two days on January 10 and 11, and in order to register, a candidate should not be disqualified for any reason by KFCC law, KFCC articles of association or the KFCC management election code.
Candidates will be able to campaign from January 12 to February 1 through the following means: • Distribute campaign materials • Make telephone calls or send text messages • Make use of electronic communication including e-mail • Make a presentation at the hustings on election day
In addition, the NEC plans to hold a fair election pledge signing ceremony for the candidates on January 11 once the candidate registration period is over. |
