Date :03/02/2011Read : 469

21 political parties, 295 Political Fundraising Associations(PFAs), and National Assembly members who have the PFAs have submitted their financial reports detailing income and expenditure of political funds in 2010 to Election Commissions(ECs) at each level.

According to the Article 40 of the Political Fund Act, the central party of political parties shall submit annual financial report by February 15, while Si/Do parties and the PFAs shall submit it by January 31.

The financial report should contain the details of income and expenditure incurred in 2010, and be accompanied by a copy of bank account and receipt, as a proof of such income and expenditure. If such report was submitted in the occasion of elections in 2010, the financial reports showing income and expenditure made from 21 days after the relevant election shall be submitted.

The NEC, Si/Do ECs and Gu/Si/Gun ECs should make an announcement of receiving the financial reports and make them available for public inspection for three months. They will conduct paper examination and on-the-ground investigation to verify the reports, identify any violations of the Political Fund Act, and take necessary measures on any irregularities, including bringing the case to prosecutors or cutting the national subsidies.
