= Voters can use the Internet, e-mail, text messaging, and SNS to campaign = = Sharing false information or slander on social medial can be an electoral law violation = The National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea announced that anyone who has the right to campaign can do so freely from May 31 until June 12, the day before Election Day. In addition, election campaigning using on the internet or through e-mail and text message will also be allowed on election day. The candidate and his or her spouse (including one person nominated by the candidate or their spouse to represent them), an election campaign manager, and election campaign staff are allowed to carry out election campaigning while wearing sashes, labels or attaching any other item. In addition, election campaigning through printed materials, other forms of media, information and communication networks as well as through dialogue and discussion can be conducted in a manner prescribed by the Public Official Election Act. Voters who are able to campaign can appeal for support for a specific political party or candidate in the public place, and may use the internet, e-mail, text message, SNS to campaign.
