KOCEI conducts training for Election Officials from Fiji and Moldova
=Participants take part in South Korean election training and observe by-elections=
The National Election Commission announced that election officials from Fiji and Moldova will conduct 13 days of training at the Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy (KOCEI) looking at the Korean election system between October 19 and 31.
During the training the participants will gain expert knowledge by looking into Korea’s election systems, election management techniques, and voting and counting systems. The participants will establish action plans to improve their election administration, visit industrial sites and experience traditional Korean culture.
In particular, since this training program is taking place during the by-elections period conducted on October 28, the participants will be given an opportunity to witness early voting at polling stations managed by the Seoul Commission, and on Election Day they will observe voting and counting at polling stations in the Gyeonggi Province Commission.
Since 2006, KOCEI has carried out trainings for 405 election officials from 44 countries in total, and through these programs KOCEI has been able to promote friendships with other election management bodies and contribute to the advancement of democracy.
