| The NEC signs a MoU with the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History |

A special joint exhibition under the working title of ''The History of Elections in the Republic of Korea'' will be held in 2016 The National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea (NEC) announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in order to hold a special joint exhibition in 2016 under the working title The History of Elections in the Republic of Korea. In this MoU, the two sides have agreed to work together on various topics including developing content and promoting the special exhibition around the time of the 20th National Assembly elections are held next year. Kim Dae-Nyeon, the Deputy Secretary General of the NEC and Kim Wang-Sik, Director of the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History participated in the signing ceremony on the 27th August. The NEC said that the special exhibition will serve as an opportunity to increase the voters’ sense of sovereignty and to inform the public on the importance of elections. The special exhibition is planned to be on show at the museum from March 3 to June 26, 2016.
