= Debates expected to reach out to and communicate with the voters =

The National Election Broadcasting Debate Commission (Chairperson Lee Jeong-hee) announced that, in conjunction with the 20th National Assembly elections scheduled for April 13, they will host three public competitions for topics and questions for the election debates.

It is expected that questions and topics collected through the public competition will be reflected in the election debates. During the competition, anybody can participate through the National Election Broadcasting Debate Commission homepage in the ‘public participation - public submissions’ menu until March 4.

The results of the competition will be announced on April 13 (election day) on the National Election Broadcasting Debate Commission homepage, and 100 participants will receive a 100,000 won mobile phone gift voucher for participating.

The National Election Broadcasting Debate Commission said that they hope that by collecting debate issues that are central to voters and using them during the election debates through the public competition, interest in the 20th National Assembly elections will increase among the electorate.

In addition, according to the Public Official Election Act Article 82.3 (Policy Debates Supervised by the Election Debate Broadcasting Committee), election debates will be held more than once a month from 90 days before the election (Thursday January 14) until the day before candidate registration day (Wednesday March 23). The first debate will be held January 25, 2016 from 10am and broadcast live to the nation on KBS and MBC TV.
