NEC Hosts Contests on Civic Education for Democracy

The Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy (KOCEI) announced that it is hosting the「2015 Civic Education for Democracy Contest」and the「Teaching and Learning Programs on Civic Education for Democracy Contest」under the theme of Civic Education for Democracy on Elections and Politics from September 1 to 30.

The contest is open for the public in three categories: UCC (User Created Content), Poster, and New Ideas ․ Testimonies.

For the「Teaching and Learning Programs on Civic Education for Democracy Contest」, former and current teachers with a teacher''s certificate as well as students currently enrolled in the National College of Education and Secondary Teacher''s College are eligible to participate.

The contest winners will be awarded with a total of KRW 32,300,000, including KRW 3,000,000 for the grand prize in the UCC adult group.

KOCEI plans to increase the public interest in civic education for democracy through these contests, of which the prize-winning works will be exhibited during December.

(anyone who understands the importance of civic education for democracy, including foreigners)

* Application Unit: Individual entrance is available for New Ideas ․ Testimonies category only.

Individual or Team(less than 3 persons) entrance is available for other categories (UCC and Poster).
