Three Saenuri party members; Oh Shin-Hwan in Gwanak-gu (eul), Seoul, An Sang-Su in Ganghwa-gun (eul), Seogu in Incheon, and Shin Sang-Jin in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si in Gyeonggi-do, as well as independent candidate Cheon Jeong-Bae in Seo-gu (eul), Gwangju were elected in by-elections for the National Assembly members held on April 29th, 2015, according to the National Election Commission. Meanwhile, Jo Yeong-Gi from the Saenuri party was elected to the Si/Do council of Yanggu-gun in Gangwon-do, and three Saenuri party members, two New Politics Alliance for Democracy and two independent candidates won in the elections for Gu/Si/Gun council members. The terms of office of those who were elected in this elections start from the day their elections were confirmed and last until their predecessors’ terms of office end. 321,150 voters out of 984,384 cast their ballots in the election, reaching 32.6% of final turnout. The turnout of the by-election for the National Assembly members reached 35.9 %, 1.7% point higher than the average turnout, 34.2 %, of the by-elections for the National Assembly members since 2000. To look at the turnout by constituency, Seo-gu (eul) in Gwangju showed the highest turnout of 41.1 %, followed by 36.9% in Gwanak-gu (eul) in Seoul, 36.5% in Ganghwa-gun (eul), Seo-gu in Incheon and 31.5% in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si in Gyeonggi-do. The turnout of the Yanggu-gun Si/Do council election was 50.4 %, and 25.1% in the elections for Gu/Si/Gun council members which were held in seven districts. □ Overall Turnouts
