On December 9, the National Election Commission nominated celebrities including soprano Su-mi Jo, entertainer Byung-man Kim as honorary ambassadors for the 19^th National Assembly elections and the 18^th Presidential election which will be held on April 11 and December 19^th in 2012 respectively; and main anchors of three major TV networks (Soo-bin Jo from KBS, Hyun-jin Bae from MBC, and Seon-young Park from SBS), Mr Hyung-cheol Moon (a physically challenged person) and Ms. An-hee Oh(Vietnamese and counselor for multicultural families) were also named honorary ambassadors.

The honorary ambassadors will take lead in raising awareness and boosting participation in elections, as they will be featured in promotional commercials and various promotional materials for fair elections.
