The Appraisal of Election Law Information Service in the 5th Nationwide Local Elections

Date :07/02/2010Read : 288

The NEC hosted the appraisal of Election Law Information Service in the local elections on June 2, 2010 to gain implications for further regulation guidance work. The appraisal was held from 24 to 25 of June and around forty election management officers who were involved in the Election Law Information Service during the 5th Nationwide Local Elections took part in.

In the 5th Nationwide Local Elections, the NEC improved Election Law Information Service to provide information on election laws to questioners and candidates appropriately. In this regard, call-back service and e-mail guidance service were newly introduced. The call-back service contributed to questioners’ convenience since they did not need to call again to ask their questions. The guidance staffs called back to the questioners missing the chance to call and gave their answers. The e-mail guidance service was carried out to give essential information on election laws to candidates earlier than their requests. The guidance staffs summarised and reorganised frequent questions and answers and emailed the document to candidates.

In the appraisal, various opinions and experiences about the Election Law Information Service during the local elections were shared and discussed. The NEC would like to provide more developed Election Law Information Service in the next election by colleting feedbacks from the appraisal.
