The National Election Commission announced that campaign booklets of the 18th Presidential Candidates were sent out to each household. The law prescribes that campaign booklets of less than 16 pages and double-faced campaign leaflets produced and submitted by each candidate shall be mailed out for the Presidential Election. Each candidate’s campaign booklet has been sent out to each household and an election leaflet along with a voting guide that includes a map showing a polling station will be mailed out around December 12. The NEC has ordered Eup/Myeon/Dong Election Commissions to oversee the process of mailing out campaign booklets/leaflets to prevent booklets/leaflets for certain candidates from being left out. The NEC has also asked such relevant agencies as the Korea Post for cooperation so that the booklets/leaflets can be sent out to each household in an accurate and prompt manner. The NEC has kindly requested the public not to take booklets/leaflets from someone else’s mail box which may result in penalties according to the law. Those who have not received booklets/leaflets may call 1390, a main number of the Election Commission to be assisted. Furthermore, the NEC announced that the booklets/leaflets have been posted on the NEC’s website (http://www.nec.go.kr) in the e-book format. Eligible voters are kindly requested to thoroughly examine each candidate’s policies and pledges before casting their votes. |
