The people will be able to access to election information services for the 19th National Assembly elections in various ways. The NEC held a briefing session on the plan of providing election information services (including lists of election information and schedules) for the 19th National Assembly elections with the attendance of persons concerned with broadcasting stations, newspapers, and internet portal services on January 26 at the NEC. The NEC will provide various information through its own website (http://www.nec.go.kr), the media, and internet portal sites including: information and photos of candidates and preliminary candidates; candidates’ information on education, working experiences and private property, etc.; election pledges; information of polling stations; results of voting and counting; and the elected. Election information services will be provided according to the schedule of the election affairs, as the NEC is currently providing registration information of preliminary candidates and related statistical data through its own websites. In particular, the NEC has a plan to provide a “Find a Polling Station” service from the National Assembly elections through major internet portal sites as well as its own website in order to help voters find polling stations they need to visit. Add to that, the NEC will provide mobile services on election information so that voters can access to election information from anywhere they want. The NEC announced that it will do its best to provide election information services in order to guarantee voters’ right to know and help voters cast their ballots in a proper way.
