Results of the 19th National Assembly elections

The National Election Commission announced that the voter turnout in the 19th National Assembly elections held on April 11 had reached 54.3% and that 21,815,420 out of 40,205,055 eligible voters had participated in the elections. The voter turnout has increased by 8.2% compared with the record low turnout in the 2008 National Assembly elections.

 

Meanwhile, the Saenuri party has gained 127 seats in the local district elections and 25 seats in the proportional representation elections after obtaining 42.8% of the vote. The Saenuri party has gained 152 seats in total which has allowed it to maintain its position as the party with the largest number of seats in the National Assembly. The Democratic United party has gained 106 seats in the local district elections and 21 seats in the proportional representation elections after obtaining 36.45% of the vote. The party has therefore gained 127 seats in the National Assembly. In the meantime, the United Progressive party has gained 7 seats in the local district elections and 6 seats in the proportional representation elections, which has allowed it 13 seats in total. In addition, the Liberty Forward party has 3 seats and 2 seats respectively in the local district elections and proportional representation elections, 5 seats in total. With 3 successful independent candidates included, 300 seats have been confirmed.
