| A Seminar on Changes in the Internet Media & Ways to Ensure Fair Election News Coverage |

□ The Internet News Deliberation Commission(hereinafter referred to as the INDC) under the National Election Commission announced that it would hold a seminar on Sep. 13 (Thu) from 2pm at the Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy in preparation for the 18th Presidential Election. The purpose of the seminar is to seek ways to ensure fairness in the election news coverage in accordance with circumstantial changes in the Internet media. □ The seminar to be co-hosted by the INDC and the Korean Society for Media Law, Ethnics and Policy Research will be a forum for analyzing the status of the Internet news coverage on the 19th National Assembly elections held on April 11 and discussing ways to deal with controversial issues predicted to arise in the 18th Presidential Election. In particular, participants from the academic field and the press will present opinions and have an in-depth discussion on how to ensure fairness in the election news coverage depending on political preferences of the Internet media and improve the election news deliberation system catering for a rapid circumstantial change in the Internet media. |
