The National Election Commission of Korea(NEC) held the Election Advisory Committee Meeting for the 5th Nationwide Local Elections on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Korea Press Center in Seoul.  

The NEC composes of the Election Advisory Committee for the elections to support and maintain electoral culture to be clean and fair, seeking advices and discussing methods to lead election management effectively. It consists of 18 members, representing the Press Organization, Academic Society, Legal Society and Civil Society Organization.  

In the meeting, the members of committee suggested various ideas on preventive measures against election frauds and active methods in public relations for successful election.  

The main contents of discussions were as follows :

․ Issues and Prospects of the Local Elections 2010

․ Devices for strict enforcement on election crimes such as bribery, and

    public servants'' involvements in campaigning, etc.

․ Promotion of policy-oriented election, called "Manifestos"

․ Increasing voters turnout
