To eliminate illegal political funds and to encourage the public to report such crimes, the ECs reward
up to five hundred million Korean Won to those who report illegal activities to the relevant authorities.

In such cases, their identities are protected and if the reporting person is also engaged in the illegal
activities(whistle-blower), then the charge against him or her will be reduced.
